Clean Scapes has been working on the redevelopment and reconstruction of Republic Square Park, along with the Austin Parks Foundation (APF), the Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA), and the Austin Parks & Rec Department (PARD), since September 2016. “Most people pass through Republic Square Park with little idea of its storied past. Outside of special events, the park sits quietly, largely unused.”

The park will be undergoing a complete transformation, including the addition of new sidewalks, stone walls, statues, a large lawn area, a kiosk building with bathrooms and a restaurant, and lots of new plants and trees.
“The redevelopment of Republic Square will be based around a circular promenade which connects pedestrians to all four corners of the park, creates dynamic edge conditions and provides a flexible, central lawn for activities. Regional materials will be used for the hardscape, which is inspired by the layering of local creeks and waterways.” Clean Scapes and APF’s goal is to “revitalize this small urban park and have it take its place among Austin’s most treasured parks.”
